Willie C. Newsome
AHOSKIE, N.C.—Willie C. “Baby Ray” Newsome, died Oct. 8, 2008, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Newsome was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Jerome Newsome of Winton, N.C., Arnold Newsome of Murfreesboro, N.C., Clayton Newsome of Fayetteville, N.C. and Derwin Newsome of Temple, Texas; four daughters, Malinda Carmon of Greensboro, N.C., Carolyn Kerns of Winston-Salem, N.C., Vicki Arnold of Petersburg and Alicia N. Gatling of Ahoskie; two sisters, Jessie Taylor of Ahoskie and Hazel Mitchell of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral was conducted Tuesday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Ahoskie, by the Rev. H.H. Murrill.
Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Reynolds Funeral Home, Ahoskie, was in charge.
