The Tidewater News is looking for photo submissions for its annual calendar contest, and the grand prize is a $500 gas card.

That winner also will have his or her photo featured on the cover of the 2009 calendar and get one year of home delivery of the newspaper. Runners-up will have their photo and names featured on one month, as well as a year of home delivery.

Photos must be taken in or depict the newspaper coverage area.

Preference will be given to photos that include local people and scenery and fit well in the horizontal calendar format.

The contest deadline is Sunday.
