Anise N. Williams
HENRICO—Anise Newsome Williams, 87, died Oct. 3, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph R. and Annie M. Newsome, formerly of Branchville, and her brother, Joseph R. Newsome Jr.
She was an entrepreneur and a woman before her time. She taught her family many lessons — the greatest of all, survival.
She is remembered by all who even met her. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star Chapter Branch Spencer No. 11.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwendolyn B. Steinbrecher and husband Robert; son, Grover G. Barnett Jr. and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Shelia Steinbrechen, Terese Steinbrechen, James Basnett and Kenneth Barnett; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Nurney of Capron, Josie Gay of Seaboard, N.C. and Erma Scott of Boykins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday in Boykins Baptist Church, Boykins, Va., with interment at Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins.
