Catherine O. Tropier
FRANKLIN—Catherine O. Tropier of Airport Drive, died Oct. 1, 2008, in Suffolk.
Mrs. Tropier was born in Windsor, N.C., to the late Hattie Bonds Outlaw and Theodore Carter on Nov. 25, 1913.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Doris Ruffin and son-in-law, Thomas Ruffin.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Vivian and the Rev.Anthony Goodwyn; Karen Ruffin, Kevin and Roblyn Ruffin, Bettina Faison, Thomas and Brenda Ruffin; great-grandchildren, Sharon Nicole Goodwyn, Antoinette Nichols, Anthony and Ida Goodwyn, Ashonnald Ruffin, Maketa Ruffin, Shannel Shell, Siairra Young, Jonathan Ruffin, Torri Ruffin and Eva Ruffin; 10 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A homegoing service will be held Saturday at noon at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin, with the Rev. Anthony Goodwyn of New Hope Baptist Church and Old Cool Spring Baptist Church, delivering the eulogy.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Windsor, N.C.
On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by 10:30 a.m.
