Ominous looking clouds swirl over the Pizza Hut on Armory Drive in Franklin on Friday afternoon. Tornado warnings had been issued for Franklin, Courtland and south central Southampton County. The same line of storms produced a tornado earlier in the day in Bertie County, North Carolina in the town of Aulander. Downed trees and minor damage to a trailer park were reported there.
