SUFFOLK—Police are investigating the armed robbery of a downtown Suffolk bank Thursday.

Around 11:20 a.m., two men went into the lobby of First Federal Savings and Loan, 1703 N. Main St., and demanded money from a teller, said city spokeswoman Debbie George.

After taking the money, they fled on foot down North Main Street.

No one was hurt in the incident, she said.

One of the men was carrying a dark-colored handgun, she said. Both men had bandannas covering their faces.

One of the suspects was 5 feet 8 inches and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. The other was 6 feet, wearing dark clothes and a jacket with stripes on the sleeves.
