PORTSMOUTH—Susanna Hoskins, 85, of the 2300 block of 8th Street, died Sept. 19, 2008, with her family by her side.
She was the daughter of the late Johnnie E. and Mary A. Granger and the widow of Robert H. Hoskins Sr.
She joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Newsoms, at an early age.
Mrs. Hoskins was a certified beautician by Bakers Academy of Beauty Culture in Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter, the Rev. Jacqueline D. Butler (Paul) of Virginia Beach; son, Robert H. Hoskins Jr. of Portsmouth; grandsons, Anthony Hoskins, Malcolm Hoskins, Kareem Hoskins, Eric Hoskins, all of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Claudette Hoskins; a special niece, Sherdina Granger and sisters and brothers, Romine Weatherspoon, Benjamin Granger, Georgia Freeman, Julia Flythe, Isiah Granger, William Granger, James Granger, Johnnie (Erkie) Granger, Wilheminia Granger, Virgie Sneed, Johnnie (Dock) Granger and Tom E. Granger Sr.

A funeral was held Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Guns officiated and the Rev. Steve Peacock delivered the eulogy.
