CARRSVILLE—Sallie Lillian Russell, 83, of the 31400 block of Cecelia’s Lane, died Sept. 19, 2008, in her residence.
Born in Isle of Wight County, Mrs. Russell was a teacher’s aide for Franklin City Public Schools.
She was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville.
She was the widow of Melvin Leon Russell.
Survivors include a daughter, Veronica Brickhouse (Glen) of Chesapeake; six grandchildren, Adam Russell of Washington, D.C., April and Aisha Russell of Silver Spring, Md., Mark, Durell and Brandon Jones of Chesapeake; a host of great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Seth and Maggie Mitchell; a daughter, Evelyn Russell; and son, Gregory Russell.
A funeral was held Thursday in Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, by the Rev. Dr. R.E. Rodgers.
Burial followed in Picot Family Cemetery, Carrsville.
Engram Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge of arrangements.
