IVOR—Edward Thomas “E.T.” Logan, 84, died Sept. 20, 2008, in Edenton, N.C.
He was the son of the late Edward Thomas Logan Sr. and Annie Appel Logan.
Mr. Logan was a former deacon of Surry Assembly of God, Smithfield Assembly of God, and currently a faithful member and deacon of Mill Swamp Baptist Church.
He was a self-employed farmer until 1985. He then was employed by Little’s Super Market for 22 years and employed by Smithfield True Value for one year.
He served on the Board of Elections for the Raynor District and Pons Precinct for a total of 49 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Elsie Uzzell Logan; one daughter, Joyce L. Perry and husband Curtis of Hertford, N.C.; a sister, Emily Logan of Ivor; two grandchildren, Marcia P. Hobbs and husband Barry Hobbs of Hobbsville, N.C.; Logan Perry and wife Ruth of Boothbay, Maine; and four great-grandchildren, Rebecca Hobbs, Jared Hobbs, Josiah Perry and Benjamin Perry.
A homegoing celebration was held Tuesday in Mill Swamp Baptist Church, Ivor, with the Revs. Jim Jones and Billy Garner, and grandson, the Rev. Logan Perry.
Burial was in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements were in the care of Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield.
