VIRGINIA BEACH—Camille Bailey Donaldson, 61, died Sept. 13, 2008, in a local hospital.
Born Feb. 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Roger J. and Margaret Rosser Bailey.
Mrs. Donaldson graduated from Radford College in 1969. She was also a graduate of Averett University with degrees in early childhood education.
She taught for several years in the Virginia Beach public school system until health issues forced her to retire.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, James William Donaldson; son, James Roger Donaldson of Medina, Ohio; and a brother, Charles Bailey of Wakefield.
A talented Christian woman, she genuinely and enthusiastically lived her life according to the principles of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was the first president of the United Methodist Women, taught VBS for several years, was active in many Bible study groups, and started the first church library.

She was also instrumental in starting the Neighborhood Watch in her community.
In all of these activities and accomplishments, she exhibited the humility of a servant who never sought nor expected recognition for her efforts.

A reception for her family and friends followed in the church fellowship hall. Burial was private in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery, Wakefield.
