Iola C. Jones
FRANKLIN—Iola Copeland Jones, of Carrsville Highway, died Sept. 8, 2008, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
The Hertford County, N.C. native was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Como, N.C., where she served faithfully as a deaconess.
Survivors include one daughter, Velma D. Jones of Virginia Beach; two sons, Calvin Lee Jones of Portsmouth and Steve N. Jones, Franklin; one brother, Horace D. Copeland; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Como, with Pastor Elliott Hill delivering the eulogy.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
