FRANKLIN—Several tips to the city’s Crime Solvers Line led to the arrest of a Franklin man on charges connected with an August Pretlow Street knife attack.

Raynard Lawrence, 50, of the 500 block of Pretlow Street, was charged with malicious wounding following his arrest on Friday.

According to Lt. T.W. Whitt of the Franklin Police Department, Lawrence was identified after the department received several telephone tips related to the Aug. 21 attack, in which a victim received knife injuries to the hands, arms and back.

Lawrence is being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
