To the Editor:

The online poll published recently in The Tidewater News only listed McCain and Obama as the candidates for president. Why have you not included the other candidates, including Libertarian Bob Barr?

Even though the argument can be made that either the Republican or Democratic candidate is more likely to win the election, it is true that the Libertarian and other party candidates can and do make a difference.

In short, I cannot participate in your online poll because I will not be voting for either of the two candidates in your limited list of options.

I believe it is a great disservice to our community and to our nation when the complete truth is not presented in these matters.

I ask that you list all the presidential candidates so that I and other readers of The Tidewater News can participate.
