James E. Johnson
BOYKINS—James Earl “Speck” Johnson, 64, died Aug. 31, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born in Newsoms, a son of the late Ryland and Lila Mae Story Johnson.
He was retired from Narricott Industries after 20 years in maintenance.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Summers Johnson; his son, Robert Lee Burton and wife Robin of Courtland; two sisters, Joyce Miles of Boykins and Diane Colon of Suffolk; one brother, Grady Johnson of Franklin; a special nephew, Dickie Allen Harrison and wife Carrie of Conway, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Joyce, Robbie, Jamie, and Mandy Burton, Marie Vick, Leeann Heath and husband, Patrick, Dustin, Cody, Kyrie, and James-Kevin Harrison, Joshua and Tony Leach; and one great-grandson, Daniel Heath.
The funeral service was conducted Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.
Interment followed in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.
