Joan S. Minor
COURTLAND—Joan Slade Minor, 66, died Aug. 30, 2008, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Lexington, Mass., a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Slade.
Mrs. Minor formerly coordinated the Acolytes and was on The Altar Guild at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, and later was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
She was a member of the Country Acres Garden Club and the Southampton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
She enjoyed sailing, canoeing, and kayaking.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Edward Colquitt Minor; her daughter, Elizabeth Colquitt Austin-Minor and husband, Jay Alan Austin of Duluth, Minn.; one grandson, Benjamin Thomas Austin; and one brother, William Slade of Westminster, Md.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with the Revs. James W. Browder, III and Ben Duffey officiating.
Interment was private.
Wright Funeral Home was charge of arrangements.
