To the Editor:

Katie Parker, her family and friends greatly appreciate all of the wonderful people who supported her in the recent fund-raiser on Aug. 8 at the Como Community Building.

We would like to thank Leon Nixon Catering for the excellent food service, and special thanks goes out to Ashley at Nixon’s Catering for her invaluable help arranging the event.

Along with answered prayers, it was the many thoughtful and generous people working together that made this such a success. To all the people who sold tickets, provided desserts, served meals, delivered meals, purchased tickets and assisted in any way with the meal, God bless each of you.

We are grateful to Debbie Turner for printing fliers, and to all the people who distributed them to the participating local establishments and radio stations. The advertisement provided by these establishments and radio stations definitely got the word out and we them as well.

Knowing that others care and are concerned help us each day as we continue through the difficult times since Katie’s accident.
