MURFREESBORO, N.C.—Gwendolyn L. Lassiter, 52, a native of Hertford County, died Aug. 23, 2008, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, N.C.
Survivors include her husband, Eley Gatling Sr. of Murfreesboro; three sons, Eley Gatling Jr. and Michael Gatling, both of Baltimore, Md. and Keith Gatling of Varina; five daughters, Ella Badham of Murfreesboro, Addie Dovie of Surry, Angela Jones of Kenansville, N.C., Debra Reames of Glen Allen and Shelia Sith of Covington, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church by the Elder Keith Gatling and the Rev. Fernando Temple Sr.
Burial will be in the Gatling family cemetery.
Public viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today.
Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.
