SUFFOLK—Franklin Elwood Jones Jr., 36, of the 400 block of Butternut Court, died peacefully Aug. 21, 2008, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Mr. Jones was born May 17, 1972, to Franklin E. Jones Sr. and Barbara Jones in Southampton County.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army until retiring in 2003.
He entered into holy matrimony to LaTasha Vaughan on May 12, 2007.
Survivors include his parents; his devoted wife; four children, Shamyra and Tamyra Jones, Shanique Davis and Tony Vaughan Jr.; sister, Candi Church; mother-in-law, Angela Minggia; father-in-law, Larry Minggia; and a host of other family and friends.
Mr. Jones will be on view from noon to 7 p.m. today at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, 405 Johnson Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434, (757) 539-4861.
A funeral will be held in his honor at 3 p.m. Sunday in Piney Grove Baptist Church, 4901 Deer Path Road, Suffolk.
