Marie Adams

HAMPTON—Marie Louise Adams, 90, died Aug. 22, 2008.
Born in Unionville, Mich., she has been a Hampton resident since 1961 where she was appointed as the Assistant Registrar for the City of Hampton.
She retired in 1983 after 12 years.
Mrs. Adams loved her country and her politics. She served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II and was a dedicated member of the Republican Party.
She volunteered during several presidential elections, and for Herb Bateman.
She was also a member of the Republican Women’s Club.
As a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, she was dedicated to the church and its various ministries, participating as often as she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana A. Stowe of Windsor; sons, Jack R. Adams of Hampton and Michael D. Adams of Richmond; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister.
A service to celebrate her life will be at 1 p.m. today at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church by Pastor L. Douglas Stowe.
Immediately following, the family will receive friends.
The family wishes any memorial contributions be made to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 250 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, 23669.
