Isaac Evans

SUFFOLK—Isaac McCoy Evans, 66, died Aug. 21, 2008.
Mr. Evans was born in North Carolina the son of the late Willie and Addie B. Evans.
He was predeceased in death by his sister Sue E. Eaton.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley R. Evans; three daughters, Cynthia E. McClenney of Windsor, Pamela Evans of Eure, N.C. and Wendy A. Funk of Stafford; one son, David W. Evans of Suffolk; three sisters, Frances Lassiter of Eure, Grace Stafford of Ivor and Jane Spivey of Sunbury, N.C.; one brother, Willie Evans of Suffolk; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He retired after 30 years of service as a lieutenant for the Suffolk Fire Department.
He had many talents and loved working with wood, building many fine pieces of furniture. He was also mechanically inclined and an avid fisherman.
Most of all he loved his family and the Lord. McCoy was a kind and generous person who loved helping others and will truly be missed by his family and friends.
The funeral was held Monday at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, by the Rev. Stewart McCarter and Pastor Allen Lancaster.
Interment was in Holly Lawn Cemetery with fireman’s rites.
