Beatrice Brock

ZUNI—Beatrice Turner Brock, 93, widow of Alvin Grant, died Aug. 24, 2008.
She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Moss McCarver and Minnie Belle Drewry Turner, and was predeceased by a sister, Sallie Edwards and a nephew, D. S. Edwards.
Mrs. Brock was retired from Beale’s Meat Packing. She was known throughout the area as the “Apple Jack Lady.”
She was a lifetime member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for more than 60 years. She loved her church, family, and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Lillie Belle Faison; two sons, A. Grant Brock and wife Carol and Ivan M. Brock, all of Zuni; four grandchildren, Diana Beale and husband Johnie of Walters, the Rev. Curtis Faison and wife Beth of Danville, Tara Taylor and husband Tripp, and Chad Brock and wife Jill of Zuni; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Greg Kitts and Curtis Faison officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
