Stephenson honored for 100th birthday

POQUOSON—On Sunday, Aug. 7, Virginia Stephenson, formerly of Clay Street in Franklin, celebrated her 100th birthday.

She was guest of honor at a party hosted by her daughters, Frances Ferguson of Poquoson and Sherren Holland of Kitty Hawk.

The celebration took place at Bayside Convalescent Center in Poquoson where she now lives.

There were approximately 25 guests in attendance including her sister Hazel Stephenson Bryant and husband Raymond, her nieces Lynda Howell Bond and Amelia Howell Spivey, and her special friends Judy Blythe and Judy Branch, all of the Franklin area.

Three of her grandchildren and three of her great-grandchildren attended, as well as friends from the Poquoson area.

Mrs. Stephenson greatly appreciated the many birthday wishes she received from her church family at High Street United Methodist Church.
