On July 12 Ethel Ford Robinson Pollard celebrated her 84th birthday.

This event took place at the Carrsville Community Center with approximately 150 family members and friends in attendance, which included 12 of her 13 children, 16 of her 29 grandchildren and 21 of her 32 great grandchildren.

She knew her children were giving her a birthday party, but when she got there, she was pleasantly surprised at the event that took place.

To start off the party, each of her children presented her with a rose as “A Song For Mama” by Boyz II Men played in the background.

Then her son, William Robinson, blessed the occasion with a prayer which was followed by the reading of scriptures, Proverbs 31:10-28, by son George Robinson.

She was next favored with an inspiring program with singing, praise dancing, a mime dance and a poem, “The Meanest Mother in the World,” was read by her daughter, Henrietta Pollard Beyah.

In addition to the three participants already mentioned, other participants were Keonna Cosby, Jasmine and Sonya Davis, Ruth DeBerry, Lynn Ford Sr., Bethany and Thelma Pollard, Katrina and Andrew Robinson, and Nikiayah, NyAsia and Shawn Whitehead.

After the program, all enjoyed a delicious meal of fried and baked chicken, fried fish, potato salad, yams, macaroni and cheese, string beans, hush puppies, rolls and desserts.

All in attendance received a souvenir fan.

The family would like to again thank Cheryl Sheton, The New Life Church Hospitality Ministry, Pastor Sherry Saunders, R & T Digital, Cedric Pollard Photography, DJ Phil and most of all God; for without Him, none of this would have been possible.
