A 34-year old former Zuni resident and Windsor High School graduate was still missing Friday, but Newport News police disputed her family’s assertion that authorities are treating the woman’s disappearance three weeks ago as a homicide investigation.
&uot; There is no ‘possible homicide’ investigation involving Anne Lynnette Turner being conducted by the Newport News Police Department,&uot; spokesman Lou Thurston said in a Thursday e-mail.
Francis Turner, Anne’s mother, said the family visited the Newport News police station on Monday but learned nothing new.
She said police would be reviewing security tapes from Wal-Mart in Franklin, where there was a reported sighting of Anne Turner and her boyfriend on June 26. Authorities had not contacted the family with
any findings from the tapes, Francis Turner said.
The younger Turner disappeared from her Newport News home late June 20, according to her brother Jon Turner.
The family suspects foul play, perhaps involving an ex-boyfriend.
