CHESAPEAKE—Paul McCoy Blowe, 59, of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Boulevard, died June 29, 2008, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1948, to the late Maggie Pugh Blowe and Taft W. Blowe in Southampton County, where he attended Riverview High School.
Mr. Blowe retired in 2005 after 38 years as a barber at Blowe’s Barber Shop.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rosetta Whidbee Blowe; five brothers, Luke, William, Benjamin, Sam and Joseph Blowe; and one sister, Elena Blowe.
Survivors include two daughters, Nakisha Merrill (Montressor) and Renee Pierce (Clifton); one son, Shawn Whidbee (Nikki); four sisters, Elna Blowe-Bynum, Maggie L. Blowe, Jane L. Blowe and Martha Melton (Maurice); two brothers, John Blowe (Alice) and James Blowe (Deborah); two grandchildren, Clifton III and Chakira Pierce; an aunt, Lizzie Artis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave.
The Rev. Britton Joyner will officiate.
Viewing will be from 9 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at 2408 Sero Court, Chesapeake.
