McKENNEY—William Donald Hamic of McKenney announces the engagement of his daughter, Brooks Best Hamic, to David Winston White Jr., son of Mr. David White Sr. and Nancy and Sue and Ed Martin, all of Franklin.

The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Julie Best Benton of Raleigh, N.C.

White is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ross and the fraternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Newby White, all of Franklin.

Hamic is the maternal granddaughter of Nancy Coley and the late Leroy Jack Coley and Marvin Zeno Best Sr. of Franklin.

She is the fraternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hamic of Glen Allen.

She is currently obtaining a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C. Davey is the co-owner of David White Crane Service in Franklin.

The couple was honored with an engagement party in March at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Darden Jr. The party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Butler, Amanda Sue White and Junior Mumford, and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Darden Jr.

The nuptials are planned for December in Franklin.
