Bruce E. Everett Sr.

PENDLETON, N.C.—Bruce Eugene Everett Sr., 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, died June 24, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 30, 1932 in New York City, a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Reid Everett.

Mr. Everett was also predeceased by a daughter, Carol Ann Everett, a grandson, Stephen E. Everett, and two brothers, Charles and John O. Everett.

An Army Air Force veteran and a member of Rotary International, Bruce was a retired owner/operator trucker and a Roman Catholic.

He was well-known and loved by many for his good heart, sense of humor and unselfish giving of his time in assisting others.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Walter Everett; one daughter, Barbara McGrath and husband, Carey of Courtland, Va.; two sons, Bruce E. Everett Jr. and wife Brenda of Conway and John R. Everett and wife, Terry of Norwood, NC; five grandchildren, Rebecca and Trey McGrath; Michael Hash Everett, Brandy R. Everett, Michael John Everett; sister, Florence E.Bonocorda of Greenwich, Conn.; nieces Florence Bonocorda of Bakersfield, Calif., Mary Beth Greco and husband Joseph of Greenwich, Conn., and Jane Henderson and Dr. Richard Henderson of Wilmington, Del. and nephew, Gregory Everett of Missouri, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in Boykins. The Rev. Richard Gordon will officiate at the service.

A memorial mass will be given Sunday at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Ahoskie. Memorial donations may be sent to University Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.

Wright Funeral Home, Boykins, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
