Alvah E. Bradley

AHOSKIE, N.C.—Alvah Edward Bradley, 79, of the 200 block of Brinkleyville Road, died June 21, 2008, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Mr. Bradley was a native of Bertie County, a former deacon of New Hope Baptist Church, Ahoskie and retired in 1994 as a resident engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Erva L. Bradley; one daughter, Gayle Deans, Aulander, N.C.; three sons, Michael “Mike” Bradley, Kenneth Bradley, both of Ahoskie and Marshall Bradley of Franklin; three sisters, Cleo Tinkham, Betty Lou Bazemore and Elaine Witt, all of Aulander; 14 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren.

A service to celebrate his

life was held Monday at Garrett Funeral Home, Ashley Chapel, 205 NC Hwy. 42, West Ahoskie, N.C. with the Rev. Thomas Lamm officiating.

Burial

followed in Highland Memorial Gardens.
