School board recognizes students

Several Franklin students were recognized by the school board Thursday night for their accomplishments during the just-completed school year.

Isaiah Rogers was recognized as the S.P. Morton Reading Rainbow Writer.

Jennifer Sing was recognized as a Virginian-Pilot Hampton Roads Art Show Winner, as well as a doubles partner on the high school’s tennis team. Sing and Carrie Webber were runners-up in the Virginia Group A tournament.

Jaron Everett, Bobby Parker and Gerald West were recognized as being state champions in the Special Olympics.

The school’s girls’ basketball team was recognized for advancing to the Group A championship game in Richmond.
