SUFFOLK—William H. James, of the 800 block of Second Avenue, died June 15, 2008, in Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mr. James was predeceased by his parents, Willie and Arlivia Picott James.

He was a former employee of the Southern Food Co. He was a member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Ivor.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Pittman James; three daughters, Sonja L. James, Alona Pittman, and Breanna M. James, all of Suffolk; one son, William H. James Jr., of Suffolk; three sisters, Dora Green, Pearl Winslow (Wilbert) and Betty James, all Newport News; one brother, Franklin James (Elnora) of Smithfield; three grandchildren, Jakemia C. James, Quatasia D. Johnson, Cheron Eugene James, all of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at noon at the Missouri Baptist Church, Suffolk. The Rev. Ronnie Boone officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Ivor. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk.
