WINDSOR—Mary Belle Warren Stephenson, 81, died June 15, 2008, with her loving daughters at her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born Aug. 25, 1926 in Isle of Wight County, she was the daughter of late Jesse and Joseph Wesley Warren and was predeceased by her husband of 44 years,

Lessie (Tom) Stephenson; by two brothers, John and Paul Warren and sister Annie Virginia Williams.

Mrs. Stephenson was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church, where she was in the Progressive Bible Class.

Survivors include her daughters, Marie and Brenda Stephenson of Windsor; a sister, Marie W. Jones of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Virginia B. Warren, Helen B. Stephenson and Dolly Stephenson; many special nieces and nephews; special lifelong friend, Gladys Weaver; and special cats Missy, Annie, Lil and Miss Kitty.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at

R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk, by the Rev. Steven R. Hills.

Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery, in Suffolk.
