Webster L. Colbert

SUFFOLK—Webster Leon “Wesley” Colbert, 54, of the 300 block of Goodman Street, died June 8, 2008, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mr. Colbert was born in Southampton County and was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Blow Colbert and sister, Alberta Britt.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk, and was employed as a truck driver for Henry Truck Company.

He was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church, where he was a dedicated member of the Male Chorus, and Inspirational Choir, was a Sunday school teacher and a proud member of the Hospitality Ministry and Men’s Ministry.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Sandra Colbert; sons, Aron L. Colbert and his wife Keisha and Varon L. Colbert of Suffolk; two aunts, Daisy Artis of New York and Alma Eley of Norfolk; two special friends, Pastor J.B. Williams and Reggie Riddick; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at noon Saturday in Sixth Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. J.B. Williams.

Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 1241 White Marsh Road. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
