He was a native of Southampton County, son of the late Mary and Moses Williams and the widower of Leona Williams.

He was a retired warehouse supervisor for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. with more than 30 years of service.

Survivors include one daughter, Delores Jones (Charlie) of Franklin; two sons, Aurthor C. Williams (Bernice B.) of Portsmouth and George E. Williams Jr. (Doris) of Franklin; one sister, Frances W. Washington (William) of Baltimore; one brother, Johnie C. Williams (Evelyn) of Henderson, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by one son, Roosevelt Williams Sr.

A funeral was held Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Joseph A. Fleming officiated.

Interment was in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
