DREWRYVILLE—Franklin Linwood Ricks, 83, died June 12, 2008.

Mr. Ricks was born in Southampton County, a son of the late Lina Belle Story and Richard Edward Ricks Sr.

He was predeceased by a sister, Ethel Benton.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Clarksbury Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving companion of 19 years, Betty Harrell; his daughter, Priscilla R. Baker and husband Lin of Suffolk; two sons, Roy S. Ricks and wife Cheryl of Newsoms and Linwood R. Ricks and wife Debbie of Boykins; one sister, Marian R. Preedy of Chesapeake; three brothers, Richard Ricks and Joe Ricks, both of Boykins, Calvin Ricks of Capron; seven grandchildren, Keith Revelle, Randy Ricks, Brad Ricks, Michelle Lewis, Christy Claud, Lisa Belcher and Kenneth Ricks; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Boykins Chapel of Wright Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
