William F. Stephens Sr.

CAMDEN, N.J.—William Faris Stephens Sr., 80, died June 3, 2008, at the South Jersey Healthcare and Rehab Center in Camden, N.J.

Mr. Stephens was a native of Burdette, son of the late Faris Albert Stephens and Carrie Mumford Stephens.

He was also predeceased by a son, William Faris Stephens Jr.; sisters, Eunice G. Spence, Mary Louise S. Fowler and a brother, Robert H. Stephens.

He was a 1945 graduate of Franklin High School and a graduate of Drexel Institute of Technology with a degree in engineering.

He defended his country during World War II in the

U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Jean Harback Stephens of their home in Audubon, N.J.; children, Lynn and husband Dr. James Gaul and Lori and husband Terry Johnson; grandchildren, Jamie and Jesse Gaul, all of Salisbury, Md.; sister, Virginia S. Norfleet and husband Robert of Windsor; sister-in-law, Ann C. Stephens of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was celebrated Saturday at the Audubon Methodist Church.
