FRANKLIN—A man who was involved in a rear-end collision that closed down Route 460 for about 30 minutes last month has died, according to the Virginia State Police.

Richard Delahanty, 40, was the only person injured in the accident, in which a dump truck hit him from behind while the car he was in was stopped and preparing to turn left on Ennis Mill Road.

He was flown by helicopter to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died May 21, two days after the accident, according to Sgt. Michelle Cotten, a State Police spokesperson.
