Media T. Revelle

MURFREESBORO, N.C.—Media Talbert Revelle, 87, died May 29, 2008, in Hampton Woods Health & Rehabilitation Center in Jackson,

N.C.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Merle Bridgers Revelle; parents, Tommie Clayton and Myrtle Evans Revelle; and a brother, Thomas Robert Revelle.

An area farmer, he worked with his brother, Robert, in the agribusiness of peanut buying.

He was a member of Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church and was a veteran of World

War II, serving in the Coast Guard and participating in the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

Also, he was active in the Northampton County American Legion Chapter and he loved gardening and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Clarine Speight Revelle of Hampton Woods Health & Rehabilitation Center, Jackson; two sons, Judson Revelle and wife Debbie of Grayslake, Ill., and Danny Revelle and wife Anneke of Conway; three grandchildren, Shane Revelle and Clay Revelle of Conway and Amber Rogers and husband Patrick of Rocky Mount; a stepgranddaughter, Brook Craven of Austin, Texas; two great-grandchildren, McKenna Rogers and Miller Rogers of Rocky Mount; a brother, Carson Revelle of Murfreesboro; and a sister, Margaret Egglantine Smith of Boykins.

The funeral was held Sunday in Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church, Ashley’s Grove Road, Conway, with the Rev. David Ross presiding. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro. Bridgers Funeral Home Inc., Conway, handled arrangements.
