NEWPORT NEWS—David Allen Hedgepeth, 49, died June 1, 2008.

Mr. Hedgepeth was born in Franklin and reared in Colosse, a son of the late Lewis

“Pelius” Leslie Hedgepeth and Madeline Johnson Hedgepeth.

He was a technician at Siemens Automotive in Newport News and a member of the Rock Church of Franklin.

Survivors include two daughters, Abigail M. Hedgepeth and Priscilla A. Hedgepeth, both of Courtland; three sons, Ssgt. Jacob P. Hedgepeth, USAF, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joel E. Hedgepeth of Black Creek and Benjamin D. Hedgepeth of Courtland; two sisters, Nancy H. “Polly” Flowers (Ralph) of Sedley and Brenda H. Babb of Carrsville; and two brothers, Lewis “Pete” Hedgepeth (Eleanor) of Suffolk and Sidney H. Hedgepeth (Shannon) of Windsor.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Colosse Cemetery with the Rev. David Dillon officiating.
