ISLE OF WIGHT—A Carrollton man was arrested Tuesday and charged with multiple counts of drug distribution and theft.

Seven T. Gavelle Jr., 36, of Wigwam Circle, was charged with two counts of cocaine distribution and two counts of petit larceny, according to Sgt. M.R. Kitchen of the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office.

The petit larceny charge involved the theft of money that was actually the property of a law enforcement agency.

According to Kitchen, after allegedly selling cocaine twice to an undercover police agent, Gavelle took money being used in the investigation that was intended for another undercover drug purchase.

The investigation targeted activity in the Smith’s Neck Road area and was prompted by complaints from other citizens about suspicious activity, he said.

Gavelle was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, where he was being held under a $35,000 bond.

Kitchen and Investigator T.W. Glaser handled the arrest.
