ZUNI—Beatrice Spencer Fleming, 84, died April 26, 2008.

Born in Columbia, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Mary A. and Henry Gilliam Spencer.

Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Fleming Jr. Beatrice was an active member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and treasurer of the Young at Heart Club in Windsor.

She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and devoted Christian.

Survivors include her three sons, John B. Fleming III and wife Linda of Meherrin,

Glenn W. Fleming and wife Bonnie of Virginia Beach, Ricky C. Fleming and wife Coraless of Zuni; seven grandchildren, Michelle Brinkley, Kristen Kyvelos, Carrie Delaney, Amy Mayo, Glenn W. Fleming Jr., James Branham, Lorie Ann Fleming Bass; seven great-grandchildren; brother, William “Billy” Spencer and wife Kathy of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory by the Rev. Rob Edwards with burial in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
