FRANKLIN—A biannual fund-raising event resulted in 600 pre-sold tickets for fish dinners on Wednesday.
The American Legion Charles R. Younts Post 73 and its Auxiliary Unit 73 hosted its spring fish fry, serving up fried trout and hush puppies, cole slaw and baked beans for $7 per meal.
While many chose to drive through and pick up to-go plates, others preferred to eat inside.
Members and other volunteers worked in groups to get the meals out in a timely manner at the American Legion building on Armory Drive.
Chartered by Congress in 1919, the American Legion is a non-profit, veterans of war organization that provides community service.
Post 73 has more than 100 members. In addition its Auxiliary Unit has approximately 25.
