Mildred C. Hedgepeth

ZUNI—Mildred Copeland Hedgepeth, 87, widow of Darden Woodrow Hedgepeth, died April 18, 2008.
Born in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late John and Isabel Copeland.
Mrs. Hedgepeth was also predeceased by a son, James “JD” Hedgepeth; two great-grandsons, Christopher Turner and Preston Lee Hedgepeth, four sisters and two brothers.
She was retired from Gwaltney Packing and attended Zuni Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Turner and husband Clifton of Scotland Neck, N.C.; four sons, Russell Hedgepeth and wife Becky of Windsor, Floyd “Teeter” Hedgepeth and wife Betty of Suffolk, Dennis Hedgepeth and wife Barbara of Boykins, and Roger Earl Hedgepeth of Zuni; a daughter-in-law, Claudette Hedgepeth of Suffolk; two sisters, Evelyn Jones of Suffolk and Vivian Winborne of Buckhorn; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted Monday at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Rob Edwards officiating.
Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge of arrangements.
