Julius L. Powell Sr.

SMITHFIELD—Julius Lorenze Powell Sr., died April 18, 2008.
Mr. Powell was the son of the late Nora Myrick and Frank Powell.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. He was a carpenter by trade, using his skills working for Parkview Supply Company, where he worked for 20 years, and Bobby Jones Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Brock Powell; a son, Julius L. Powell Jr. of Smithfield; a stepson, Timothy R. Asbell and wife Virginia of Nelson Co.; granddaughter, Kristina Marie Powell; brother, Jack Powell of Richmond; and two sisters, Dorothy Powell of Windsor and Emily Jones of Hampton.
A Life Celebration Service was conducted Monday in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Will Montgomery officiating.
Burial followed in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.

Arrangements were in the care of Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield.
