Pierce is the granddaughter of the late Morris Harmon.

Picot is the grandson of Mable M. Picot and the late Roy Picot Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfonzo Whitfield Sr.

She is a 2004 graduate of Churchland High School.

She is a senior at Virginia State University, where she is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in mass communication.

He is a 2001 graduate of Franklin High School and a 2006 graduate of Virginia State University.

He received a bachelor of science degree in health education NK-12.

He is employed with Youth Empowerment Service in Richmond.

He is also a member of the Petersburg Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alphi Si fraternity.

The couple is planning a May 6 wedding at Full Gospel Kingdom Church (the old Sears building), Carrsville Highway, Franklin.
