FRANKLIN—Franklin businessman Scott Carter has launched a community-events Web site at www.BlackWaterEvents.com.

Carter, chief executive officer of United Networks LLC, said the site offers three primary functions:

– An events calendar for organizations and businesses.

– Community forums that “allow anyone to discuss issues of any nature, local or otherwise, with other people from the area.”

– A blog, maintained by the site’s developers, that will be used “to post important news about the site as well as other local issues.”

“We developed this site because we thought it time that our area had a single place to go to share news and events, as well as discuss local topics of interest,” Carter said. “We believe strongly that this service should be provided to its users for free and in a straightforward, yet feature-rich manner.”
