SUFFOLK—Sharon Kay Grandison Futrell, died April 8, 2008.
Mrs. Futrell was born to the late Emmitt and Alice Winnegan Grandison, Nov. 22, 1960.
She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Smithfield. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
She was active on the usher board and a member of Miriam Song. She was formerly employed with Suffolk Public Schools.
Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Carlos D. Futrell; two children, Demetria Simone Futrell and Shynika G. Stovall (Devon) of Suffolk; two sisters, Faye Butler (Edward) of Newport News and Joyce Grandison of Smithfield; three brothers, Ted (Gina) of Newport News, Ricky (Yvette) of Rushmere and Tony Grandison of Smithfield; one grandson, “Nana’s Boy,” KerVaughn E. Stovall; two sisters-in-law, Wanda F. Futrell of Loretta Y. Cargille of Suffolk; two brothers-in-law, Michael R. Futrell and Willie Futrell Jr. (Deborah); two aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Main Street Baptist Church in Smithfield by Dr. James M. Harrison and the Rev. Nathaniel Scates Jr.
Final resting place will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.
Pretlow and Chapman Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
