Harry M. Winborne

SUFFOLK—Harry Miller Winborne, 85, of the 6000 block of Indian Trail, died April 9, 2008, in Sentara Obici Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Winborne was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Nansemond County.
He was the son of the late John Talbot and Lilla Wolfenden Winborne.
He was also preceded in death by a son, John Edward Winborne and 11 brothers and sisters.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was owner/operator of Winborne’s Auto Parts and Winborne’s Grocery.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Vivian Copeland Winborne; one son, Harry Stewart Winborne of Norfolk; two daughters, Judith W. Horton of Suffolk and Vivian Lee Gurganus and husband Ronald of Carrsville; three grandchildren, Ryan Mardre, Travis Horton (Emily) and Denise Sloan (Chris); and two great-grandchildren, Camden and Cayson Sloan.
The funeral was to be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Pearson officiating.
Committal was to follow in the Winborne Family Cemetery.
