To the Editor:

On April 5, the True Grits Relay for Life Team held its annual Paint the Town Pink fund-raiser at Pace House Inn.

Our team has many cancer survivors and knows well the need to continue to fund cancer research and treatment through Relay efforts.

We would like to thank the many generous individuals who attended this event for their support — and thank the ladies who gave their time and became models for the evening.

We also thank the many businesses who made donations to the event.

In particular, our great appreciation goes to Pace House Inn and owner Dan Hunt, Ann’s Dress Shop of Waverly, Hubs Peanuts and Feridies for their support and generosity. We want to thank our fine musicians, Ed and Mo Canada and George Atkins.

All of the proceeds from the event go to the American Cancer Society.

Every person who helped put on this event, donated to it or contributed in any

way should be proud of their effort.

It’s events like this that allow us to stand together in the fight against cancer.

Together, one day we will have a cure.
