SMITHFIELD—Herbert Linwood Ashby, 81, brother of Frank Ashby, died April 8, 2008, in Sentara Obici Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mount Nebo Baptist Church, Surry, with interment in Davis Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Poole’s Funeral Home.
