NEWPORT NEWS—Juanita Johnson Taylor Sarres died April 4, 2008.

Mrs. Sarres was a native of Newport News and graduated from Newport News High School.

She retired from Crestar Bank, now Suntrust, after 32 years of service. She was also a member of Northside Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Miriam Hensley, Emily Rix and Beryl Zachary; and two brothers, Oce Walter Johnson and Cecil Allen Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Sarres; one son, John W. Taylor and wife Kathy of Smithfield; two daughters, Sandra T. Wright of Bloomington, Ill., and Patricia T. Underwood and husband Horace Underwood Jr. of Williamsburg; one brother, Emmett Clyde Johnson of Orange Park, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Peninsula Funeral Home.

A prayer service, conducted by Father George Choiros, will be held at 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peninsula Funeral Home, with Larry Jones officiating, followed by interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to your local SPCA.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care provided by Juanita’s extended family at Governor’s Inn Estate Assisted Living.
